Organic Elderberry Syrup - by Mary Ruth's

Organic Elderberry Syrup Review

Mary Ruth’s Organic Elderberry Syrup is one of the supplements that I have chosen to make a part of my daily health and wellness routine. My health is important to me, so I am careful about the things that I choose to put into my body. Needless to say, I’m very picky about my supplements (where they come from, quality of the ingredients, etc).

I don’t want to be taking a hundred different things every day, so I choose the ones that I believe are of the highest quality and are going to have the greatest impact on my health. Organic liquid elderberry is one of those things. Some of the others are Biohms Probiotics with Super Greens, and a daily dose of Apple Cider Vinegar.

In case you aren’t familiar with Elderberry, we will talk a bit about what it is and what it does for you. Then I’ll give you a review of Mary Ruth’s and why I have chosen their Organic Elderberry Syrup over all the other options out there. As always, feel free to contact us if you have any questions we didn’t answer.

    What Is Organic Elderberry Syrup?

According to Healthline, Elderberry is one of the most commonly used medicinal plants in the world. It has been used for thousands of years by everyone from the Native Americans to the Ancient Egyptians. The range of symptoms it has been used to treat vary widely from pain relief, swelling, inflammation, and burn relief, to being used as a diuretic and a laxative. Today it is most often used as an immune system booster and to treat cold and flu symptoms.

Various parts of the plant can be used for different purposes. The leaves are sometimes used to make tea for instance. However, you have to be careful when doing this, because most parts of the Elderberry plant can be toxic if they are not prepared correctly.

Elderberry syrup is the common name for a number of different concotions made from the berries of the Elderberry plant. Often times it contains additional ingredients such as honey, cinnamon, and cloves, or other berries. Organic Elderberry Syrup is simply a version of this that contains only organic ingredients.

The Health Benefits Of Organic Elderberry Syrup

Elderberries are a low calorie food that is chock full of antioxidants and other nutrients. Here are a few of the reasons they are so good for you:

Unfortunately you can’t just grab a handful of Elderberries and start munching because they are toxic to humans in their raw form. But you can take advantage of these benefits by consuming them in Elderberry syrup.

Elderberry Syrup And Your Immune System

Preliminary studies show that organic elderberry syrup may be effective in stimulating your immune system and thereby shortening the length of and lessening the severity of cold and flu symptoms.

One study of 60 people with influenza found that those who took 15ml of Elderberry syrup four times a day showed symptom improvement in half the time as a control group that took no Elderberry syrup. Another study of 64 people found that the consumption of Elderberry supplements resulted in a significant improvement in flu symptoms after only 24 hours.

Several studies have been done like this with similar results. You can find more information about them at healthline.com

So far, the majority of studies have been performed on commercially prepared Elderberry products such as Mary Ruth’s, and there is little information at this point about the safety or efficacy of homemade remedies.

    Mary Ruth's Organics

Like I said earlier there are a plethora of different options out there when it comes to Elderberry supplements, so why did I chose Mary Ruth’s? For me, it comes down to two things…ingredients and customer service, in that order. Ingredients are the most important, but assuming that two companies have similar ingredients, customer service will win the day. In my opinion, Mary Ruth’s has the best of both.

    Organic Elderberry Syrup

As I mentioned, this is something I take every day. Sometimes twice a day, if there is a cold or flu going around, or if I just think my immune system could use a boost.

The first thing I noticed about this liquid Elderberry is how great it tastes. I’ve had other liquid supplements that are cringe inducing, but this one is delicious. In fact, my kids are always asking if they can have some, because they love it too.

The second thing I like is that it’s so easy to take. It’s concentrated so you don’t need much, and the bottle is small and doesn’t need to be refrigerated, so you can keep it anywhere.

And of course we can’t forget about the ingredients. That’s why this product made the top of my list in the first place. It’s all organic, non-GMO, vegan, dairy free, gluten free, soy free, corn free, nightshade free, and Keto friendly. It’s good, it’s clean, and it works.
